Monday, May 24th, 2010

Kashmir tourism has seen a great upsurge of tourists recently. To beat the soaring temperatures of the plains, people are flocking to the Patnitop hill station which is situated 70 miles from the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Since Patnitop lies more than 65-hundred feet above sea level, tourists find this place to be a big relief from the hot weather that prevails in the plains during warm Indian summers.

“The weather here is really nice. In other parts of Northern Indian plains the weather is too hot. Temperatures there may sometimes even rise up to over 45°C. However, here the weather is cool. We are enjoying it totally”, said a tourist from Gujarat. Another tourist from Bihar added, “This is indeed a beautiful place. The ambiance here is calm and peaceful. Anybody who wishes to enjoy beauty of a serene environment should plan a Kashmir hill station tour this summer.”

The Patnitop hill station is a major attraction of Kashmir tourism because it is a beautiful and charming plateau. In addition to this, the gushing and ice-cold fresh water springs of Patnitop is said to have medicinal properties. Adventure activities like trekking, skiing and aero sports are also popular amongst tourists. Those who simply want to enjoy the nature can stroll through the narrow paths of the mountain range. Since these paths pass through wooden lanes that link Kud with Batore, walking through them gives a panoramic view of the hill station in the backdrop of the Chenab River basin, thus bringing one close to the nature. Patnitop hill station is also a perfect spot for picnics.

Besides the natural beauty, dense pine forests and flourishing green landscape; there are various sightseeing destinations in Patnitop hill station. The Naag temple, the Sudh Mahadev, the Vaishno Devi shrine, the Bahu Fort temple, the Buddha Amarnath temple, the Kishtwar, the Mubarak Mandi palace and the Raghunath Temple are a must visit when one is travelling to Kashmir.

Patnitop is one of the most developed tourist spots in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It caters to all types of travelers. There are several luxury hotels and resorts in Patnitop that not only offers the perfect accommodation for a summer retreat, but also have the advantage of being situated amidst the most picturesque surroundings. Most importantly, all Patnitop hotels have special arrangement for honeymoon travelers and family vacationers.
