Corbett national park was also known by the name of Hailey National Park or Ramganga National Park. Its present name, Corbett Tiger Reserve Park came from the famous conservationist and naturalist Edward James Corbett who had spent majority of his childhood in this jungle. His winter residence is just outside the premise of the park, at Kaladhungi, which is now converted into a museum.
